New visitors

Have been more offline in the past few weeks to enjoy the last sunny days of the year.
Since 2 weeks I could welcome some new visitors on my balcony.

Rest in peace OZ

While sorting hundreds of street art photos of a recent trip to Hamburg, Germany, I just heard the bad news that OZ, an old famous guy of the local graffiti scene got hit by a tram and died.
Thx for the smiles you brought me and R.I.P. dude.

Penguins flying

It's been a while since my last post as my hard drive suddenly died, so I used the waiting time for the new drive to go out and take some penguin photos. And to improve my piano skills :)
Now everything seems to be fixed and I created a new set of flyin' penguin wallpapers. Enjoy!

Well ... OK, it's not a white whale. But it's more than you've ever seen of Nessie.

Next milestone in human technology

Beta users of that clunky Oculus Rift freak out. Not that 3D or Stereo-Vision have been so excitingly new in the past 30 to 50 years, but the headlines are (again) full of "Virtual Reality" as the next "Big Thing" in technology. Nothing is real ... so said The Beatles. But maybe reality is much too real these days, so everybody's gonna go virtual.

Thinking in portals

Finished Portal after dontknowhowmanyyears I put it aside, because of heavy trouble with POS SteamGuard and stupid Steamclient. After all I'm glad I got the cake :)

Happy chickins

Found one of the rare places were chickens can go out, paw the ground and peck their stuff all day. A poster at the fence told me they were happy and I could get some of their delicious eggs.

Back to me island

After all these folks and the cold weather at the carnival I was glad to head for the island again.

Because one carnival post is not enough

There have been sooo many people in beautiful or funny costumes so it's been really hard for me to reduce the loads of photos to a good selection. But it still needs a second post for my favourites. If you're not too tired after these, vitiworks has posted more carnival pictures and also a collection of youtube videos.

Carnival time - again

A week ago I travelled again to Bremen in North-Germany to visit friends and go for the Bremer Karneval, a pretty big event with around a hundred of samba baterias and street-theatre groups. This years motto has been: "Home?"

The wild life

One of the few things I really liked to watch on TV were "wildlife" documentaries. In very beautiful pictures they show us the last "paradise" places on earth, of course all in super digital HD pro now. Sometimes they mention that an area should be more protected, that this or that animal is "endangered", mostly by "criminal poachers" (="natives") in Africa, who slaughter rhinos and elephants, sell their tusks to asians who then make miracle medicine and ugly decoration objects of it to impose these things to idiots. Ok, this story is around 200 years old, maybe even older, but in the end nature movies give us a good feeling about international protection agreements and many organizations who care.

Elephant wallpapers

Some of my elephant wallpapers which I have collected from various wallpaper sites over the years. I just read an article about 2013 being (another) bad year for the remains of wildlife in Africa, so this post is dedicated to those who live their life in captivation or are just wiped out for money and making good dust catchers in prosperous 'living' rooms. Save them well, as such scenes may be rare in a not so far future.
(To save them in original size just right-click on image, then "Save target as ...")
